Origin Water Filter
Origin Water is a multi billion dollar Chinese company working within the domestic and commercial water filtration systems. They wanted to introduce a domestic water filter into Australia market but needed alter the design because the Chinese market does not drink cold water.
Challenge
Our mission was to redesign an existing product from one country to sell in different countries with different cultural requirements regarding cold water versus room temperature / hot water.
Solution
We conducted market research to establish new cultural needs. We also disassembled the existing product and and consulted with the manufacturers of the appliance in China to establish what could be changed. Our aim was to try and keep as many components as possible to maintain the existing supply chain/production process as any changes would need to be carried out in China and create unnecessary production issues.
Benefit
The project worked out well and we designed a new product that suited the new requirements without disrupting the manufacturing and supply chain of the Chinese variant.
